Tara’s mind set is to teach yoga in a “mindful and compassionate environment”.
Tara trained as a classical ballet dancer. She danced abroad as a professional dancer & choreographer for nine years using her teaching skills on a day to day basis. After retiring from professional dancing Tara started practicing yoga & using yoga’s qualities to complement her lifestyle.
Her interest, passion & enthusiasm in yoga encouraged her to train as a yoga teacher. Tara completed The Life Centre 200HR teacher training course in London in 2003-2005 training with renowned teachers Liz Lark, Sasa Markovic & Catriona Brokenshire. She has also completed teacher training courses with Mukunda Stiles, Shiva Rea, Judith Hanson Lasater, Aadil Palkhivala, Dr Ruth Gilmore, Gary Carter, Uma Dinsmore Tuli, Norman Blair, Andrew McGonigle, Tias Little, Travis Elliot, Lily Goncalves, Lara Heppell & many more.
Tara volunteered as The British Wheel of Yoga Sussex County Rep from October 2011 to 2013. Organising teacher training events & general yoga days for the South East BWY members. In 2016 Tara & her partner set up www.yogaglobe.co.uk a community yoga website publishing useful articles on yoga & yoga events. Tara also has a keen interest in essential oils & in September 2017 she became a Neals Yard Organic Independent Consultant. Tara has found essential oils extremely beneficial & likes to incorporate these into her yoga workshops.
Tara is fully insured and a member of The British Wheel of Yoga and is also first aid trained.
She started teaching yoga classes in Brighton & Hove back in 2005 & now teaches in the Ashtead area of Surrey. Tara teaches in an enthusiastic & approachable manner with a keen attention to alignment & self awareness. Tara spends a lot of time traveling using her spare time to study under some of yoga’s renowned teachers around the world. With these teachings & learning’s she hopes to pass on yoga’s many invaluable qualities to her students whilst continuing her study of yoga.
